Located in the heart of Main Street in Newark, Delaware, this new 3-story mixed-use project consists of first floor office and retail and two stories of student apartments.

The project involved the demolition of the derelict addition and the construction of new student house.  This addition to the existing bank building was added in a manner that preserved the historical character of the existing structure, surrounding buildings and the City of Newark streetscape and atmosphere.

Because of the design-build process, the 102 East Main Street project was successfully completed on time and budget with student occupancy offered for the 2008 academic year. This was in spite of the extremely limited distances to the property line, unsuitable soils, occupied adjacent operating businesses, and an active fire lane that provided access to a public parking lot and the City of Newark seasonal scheduling requirements.
